Fit More Into Your Mac Menu Bar With One Simple Trick

If you’re anything like me, your Mac’s menu bar slowly turns into a crowded mess: Wi-Fi, battery, VPN, sound controls, calendar apps, and a dozen other utilities all fighting for space.

defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain NSStatusItemSpacing -int 2
defaults -currentHost write -globalDomain NSStatusItemSelectionPadding -int 2

It basically squeezes the spacing between menu bar icons so you can fit way more stuff up there (honestly feels like 2x).

If nothing happens, just run:

killall ControlCenter

and it should apply.
