Action produces information

Or is it results? In any case, action is an important part of an equation. If you only read or ponder problems, you risk not getting results. But first, to get the best results, you need good information. The problem is that when you spend too much time gathering information and don’t act, you end up doing nothing. I read books, consume online content, and listen to podcasts about how to become a better thinker, but never do anything about it. I think if you don’t write, you just consume and forget.

I always have a feeling that I’m reading a lot but not remembering. Of course, there are other disadvantages to not taking action: the risk of not getting enough information. In my case, if I did not write this, I would not be able to discuss it with anyone, and I might miss important new information about the topic.

I’m taking action by writing this. Sitting down and writing something makes it actionable. I generate new information and connections for my mental model, which helps me better understand the problem.
